Josh Von Mink (a.k.a. Joshua James) grew up on Highway 61 in the Boreal Forest on the North Shore of Minnesota. He currently resides in the Twin Cities, often playing with his group The Heroic Dose. Through traveling the world, Josh has harnessed an intimate and accessible songwriting style, exploring the fringes of life topics. Josh Von Mink has established himself with hard work and sheer talent in many different styles. Whatever the musical arrangement may be, his delivery transcends classic Folk Rock, releasing it into boundaries yet unexplored by typical singer/songwriters. Depending on what the room calls for, Josh can be found crooning original acoustic love songs or wailing electric riffs.

As a passionate and perfection driven force, Josh has produced an impressive catalog of released and unreleased material. "Songwriting is a craft, just like painting, or sculpting. I am always searching for new ways to step outside my box and improve my art. Like art, it is also a sacred thing that requires a lot of energy, soul, and emotion... that's what I try to put into my work." After graduating from McNally Smith College of Music with a degree in Music Production, Josh also works as a Producer and Guitar Instructor in the Twin Cities and currently looking for clients and prospective students.
